An Important Town Hall Meeting and a Big Thank You

Dear THIMA Members and Friends,

Town Hall Meeting

President Melissa Koehler and the THIMA Executive Committee are hosting a Town Hall Meeting on January 25, 5 pm CST / 6 pm EST.  The purpose of the event is to share efforts that are underway by THIMA and other state associations to represent you, our members, with AHIMA regarding issues like the new requirement that 40% of CEUs for recertification must come directly from AHIMA. In addition to the efforts we are making, you will have an opportunity to make your voice heard. Melissa will be discussing a petition that we will be distributing which we hope that you will sign to voice your opposition to the 40% rule.

There is no fee, but you must register for this event.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Annual Meeting News

Now, more than ever, we need to be a strong and connected community. I hope that you are making plans to attend the 2024 Annual Meeting, March 4-6, at the Embassy Suites in Franklin. The program is simply fantastic, and we are inviting our AHIMA Board Liaison to attend.

This will be my last Annual Meeting as Executive Director as I am retiring in July.  I would truly love to see you there and thank you in person for your support over the years. And not to worry about THIMA – you will be in good hands!

Listen Up (or Watch)!

Episode 4 of HIPCast has just been released! Don’t miss this fun and enlightening conversation with THIMA President-Elect Elizabeth Delahoussaye!

A HUGE Thank YOU!

Last and certainly not least – WE DID IT! We reached our THIMA Foundation fundraising goal of $5,000 which was matched by an anonymous donor. We are so grateful. Thanks to your generosity, THIMA can continue to offer scholarships and provide meaningful, robust continuing education for our members.

All the best for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2024!!
