Call for Volunteers
We trust this finds you doing well during these difficult times. Even those of us who are not involved in coding can imagine that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc in your world. Hopefully, the situation improves sooner rather than later.
THIMA is seeking volunteers to join the Coding/Data Analytics Committee currently chaired by Charisse Madlock-Brown. Charisse is the Assistant Professor, Health Informatics and Information Management and Director of Informatics, Tennessee Clinical and Translational Science Institute at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
This group of dedicated coding and analytics professionals meet virtually for no more than one hour on a monthly basis, and the purpose of the group is described below.
Expand educational opportunities which will enhance our members’ understanding of CDI, data analytics, coding, classification and reimbursement to provide needed skills to perform as leaders in health intelligence. Continue to advocate for the appropriate use of data for patient care and secondary uses with other healthcare associations, legislative leaders (both State and Federal), and HIM professionals. Monitor RAC activity and other issues that impact reimbursement.
We welcome your involvement and expertise! Click here and complete the form if you are interested in joining in this exciting work!
