Without a slate of Officers by April 10, 2020 – UETHIMA will have to disband as of June 30, 2020.
As of today we do not have any nominations for our next slate of Officers; President-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer.
We have made numerous attempts to get volunteers to run for office in our organization without result. Without a slate of Officers, there will not be a Board to conduct operations in 2020 – 2021.
If UETHIMA has to disband:
There will be no locally held AHIMA /UETHIMA sponsored educational sessions:
- quarterly meetings = 2 CEUs per meeting = 8 CEUs total
- 1 Seminar/Symposium = 8 CEUS
This affects local representation on the THIMA Board, Currently UETHIMA has representation on the following THIMA Board positions/committees:
- THIMA Board
- Strategic Planning
- Member Engagement Council (Annual Meeting)
- Consumer Engagement
- Coding / Data Analytics
- HIM Pathways Committees and a candidate for the Nominating Committee
Volunteer candidates for UETHIMA officers must be obtained by Friday, April 10, 2020.
If you are receiving this, and have not paid your dues for the 2019-2020 year, but are willing to support the future of UETHIMA, please go online, pay your $20.00 dues for the remaining 3 months and let me know what Office you would be willing to serve in.
We are finalizing the April 16th Coding Symposium Agenda and plan to announce it formally on April 1st, with a 14 day registration window. We may have to hold this meeting via WEBEX, which will be part of the announcement.
There will be a Business Meeting at the end of the sessions in which we will either announce a Ballot of candidates for election, or discuss the advice from THIMA to cease operation.
This message will go out twice, hoping to ensure all of you have a chance to respond by Friday, April 10, 2020.

Gail Winkler, President-Elect
Susan Torzewski, Past President
