Greetings UETHIMA members and area HIM professionals,
We have newly elected officers to celebrate and swear-in at our next meeting!
All current members and non-members are invited to attend the meeting on Wednesday, July 18th from 2:00 – 4:30 pm in Auditoriums 2 or 3 of Johnson City Medical Center, in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Our 2018-2019 President-Elect is Jaclyn Kirkey, RHIA. She will serve as President-Elect under Susan Torzewski, who will begin her role as President in July 2018 when I transition to the past-president role. Jaclyn will move into the President role in July 2019 for her year-long term.
Our 2018-2020 Secretary/Treasurer is Lisa Campbell, CPC. Lisa will begin her two-year term in July 2018 and fulfill her duties until July 2020 when we welcome a new volunteer member.
Our association officers, along with the THIMA officers, committees members, and chairpersons are all volunteer positions. The people that choose to serve are the foundation that allows our organization to continue and without them, UETHIMA/THIMA would not exist. Please thank your local and state volunteers for their commitment to our local and state associations. New volunteers are always needed so please consider donating your time and expertise!
The program speakers for this meeting are being arranged and further notice will be issued once they are confirmed. UETHIMA members and guests may earn two (2) Continuing Education Units (CEU) for program attendance.
The UETHIMA business meeting will follow the speaker presentations.
***Active UETHIMA members with a current paid membership will be entered into several drawings for DOOR PRIZES! (Must be present to win.)
Non-members that are interesting in joining UETHIMA can do so at the meeting. Cash and personal checks are accepted for membership dues. The annual membership fee for Active, Affiliate, and Corporate levels is $20. No-charge Student memberships are available to those that currently hold a student membership in AHIMA, are formally enrolled in an HIM/HIT/Coding program, and select Tennessee state association as their state membership designation.
Our new membership year begins in July so please be sure to renew your membership prior to the next meeting!
Additional information regarding membership types can be found on the “Local Associations” section of the Tennessee Health Information Management Association (THIMA) website at thima.org .
