Welcome to the Tennessee Health Information Management Association (THIMA)

As the membership organization of health information management professionals, THIMA fosters the professional development of its members through education, representation, and lifelong learning. These commitments promote quality health information for the benefit of the public, healthcare consumers, providers, and other users of clinical data.

THIMA is a Component State Association of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). There are approximately 67,000 members in AHIMA and Tennessee’s association has approximately 2,400 members. There are seven local associations: Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Middle TN, Mid-East, Upper East, and West TN.
